Bob McWhirter

Bob McWhirter is VP of Engineering at CoreStory⁠, where he leads engineering and platform development for the company’s code intelligence products.Over a career spanning more than two decades, Bob has worked across distributed systems, developer platforms, cloud infrastructure, runtimes, IoT, and software supply-chain security. He previously spent nearly 18 years at Red Hat⁠, where he contributed to and helped lead projects including JBoss, Drools, TorqueBox, Thorntail, Quarkus, and Drogue IoT. Most recently, he served as a Distinguished Engineer at Resideo⁠, focusing on edge computing, automation platforms, and connected systems.Bob is also the founder of the Codehaus open-source community, an influential home for open-source software projects that helped shape modern application development. At CoreStory, he is focused on helping developers and AI agents better understand, navigate, and evolve complex software systems.
